4. Black Beauty

As a child I was crazy about a book with the title "Black Beauty". An English novel about a beautiful black horse. Now I have my own Black Beauty. A beautifully black steel steed. Proud as a bold pedal-knight, I ride around on my steed of steel through the English landscape in the way Joe Green did with his Black Beauty in the 19th century.
Speaking of England....We're now two days in Cardiff and once more in a hotel by lack of campings. Didn't I mention that weirdest thing so far last time as we guided our muddy bicycles through the lounge to the toilet for disabled people? Well, it just got weirder. Not only did our bicycles made a trip through the hotel, but now they're in the same room as we are next to our bed. Maybe the next hotel has a place for the bicycles "in" bed with us...
By the way, we had our first day without rain yesterday. It was about time and we hope that more days will follow. Because it was a bit rainy today, we visited the National Museum of Cardiff and the wonderful Cardiff Castle (see photo).
But however we will ride, together with my prince on a black steed, who gave Black Beauty to me, we enjoy the wonderful countryside of England and Wales intensely. In the words of Shakespeare: 'This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England'. Or as Remy put it recently: this is a wonderful vacation!
