Hej alle sammen,
It was some time ago that we stepped off the boat in Frederikshavn and by now we are at friends in Magtenbølle on Funen. Today we start our trip home, which will take about 10 days. And that will only work if we cycle 80 km a day, the wind turns or lie down and we don't change plan like the many tims before.
In Frederikshavn Remy felt like a 'quick' detour to the north to Skagen and visit the tong of land Grenen, the most northern point of Denmark.
Still we thought we could make it in a few days to get to Vissenbjerg on Funen on bicycle were we would visit the family Vendelbo on august 11 for a few days: Ulrik, Solveig, their three little daughters Eja (5), Lea (4) and Liv (3) and their aunt Ewa.
But we didn't take in to account the rough and hilly wilderness of Jutland and the all powerful wind from the south. Still it was a lovely journey. We cycled through the forest, dunes and heath. And after every steep climb over gravel or dirt roads we had a lovely view and then followed by thrilling descents over more gravel or dirt roads. At night we always had lovely spots in the woods were we made a campfire, cooked our meal and slept in shelters. In short, enjoying ourselves to the max.
But because of that powerful wind from the south en the climbing, we couldn't make it to Vissenbjerg in time, and that's why we took the train on the Monday afternoon and arrived at the Vendelbo's at the end of the afternoon.
Tuesday we visited Legoland and yesterday morning we said goodbey to the Vendelbo's.
A couple of kilometers away, in Magtenbølle live Jørgen and Ingrid. We planned only for a lunch to move on afterwards, but again the plannes got ajusted. After the lunch we went up and down to Odense to visit the Gallery of Jens Galschiøt with his magnificent collection of bronze sculptures. And yesterday evening we went with Jørgen and Ingrid to interesting concert of Chinese musicians.
Last night we slept in Magtenbølle and now we're heading home!
