Hej alle sammen!
Tonight I was the lucky winner in a lottery where the prize was a voucher for a free safety-check (which is mandatory every two years in Denmark) at a garage on Funen. Since we have no car registered in Denmark and it is a bit far for a check-up, I gave the voucher away to Ulrik, where we stayed at the moment.
Tonight we celebrated "Sankt Hans", a danish mid-summer celebration with Ulrik and his three daughters (Eja, Lia and Liv, resp. 6, 5 and 3 years old) and lots of other people in a garden at someones home.
It's a couple of days now we stayed at the Vendelbo family. Originally we planned to arrive yesterday, but because Solveig had to go to England unexpectedly for work and we really wanted to see each other before that, we went straight from Copenhagen to Vissenbjerg, with a little help from Ulrik's car and trailer, because otherwise we wouldn't have made it.
We had a lovely couple of days with great weather and tomorrow we'll move on. We changed our plans (unexpected? no.... ;-) ) and decided to cycle straight home, like last year. That's 800 kilometers, so we should make it. Last year we quit because of the bad weather, but now we'll try it again!
Til next time! Remy en Gea
Picture: Sankt Hans: this is the burning of a witch (doll). The fire that is lit is not for punishing evil people, but meant as protection against evil powers.
