A lot of hard work is currently being done on the cycling guide for the S:t Olavsleden. I had actually hoped to tell you that it was finished by now, but we’re not quite there yet, because… well, apparently there’s no blessing on this project. I’ve been working on this guide since 2019, and this past summer, when I cycled the route again, no fewer than three newsletters were dedicated to Murphy and his famous law (see e.g. here). I could easily give a fourth newsletter about writing and designing the guide the same title. But enough now with that Murph!
Due to circumstances, it will take at least longer than the promised November, but I’m still hopeful for publication before Christmas. The book will be published in Dutch. However, if there is significant demand, I will endeavour to obtain funding for this and publish the guide in English as well. Let me know if you are interested!

News from the webshop
In the Dutch version of this newsletter, I refer to some news items concerning the webshop. However, these are all Dutch-language books. One new item is maybe interesting, though: this week, a small gift book about the Gudbrandsdalsleden by Beer Visser was published. An English translation will also be available soon.
Talks and Events
“It’s like you’re on tour,” someone said to me. And it really did feel that way, because the past two weeks were filled with no fewer than three information markets and three talks. The last one is tomorrow, and then things will quiet down again until the beginning of 2026.
The FietsFika, (Cycling Fika), an information market for cyclists in the Nordic countries, was a huge success. We even had to stop ticket sales beforehand because it would otherwise have been too crowded. The day itself was one big Scandinavian celebration! You’ll find some photos here (credits: Hetty Luppes). And good news: the second edition is coming! More about that in the next newsletter.
The Pilger Messe is in Hamburg in February. I will be going there too, together with Ria Warmerdam, the author of the hiking guides. We will have an information stand in the Nordic Corner. More information: Pilgern im Norden.
